The IEEE Computational Intelligence Society http://cis.ieee.org/
Vision Statement: The Vision of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society is to be the organization of choice for Computational Intelligence and related professionals throughout the world.
Mission Statement: The Computation Intelligence Society specialises in the theory, design, application, and development of biologically and linguistically motivated computational paradigms emphasizing neural networks, connectionist systems, genetic algorithms, evolutionary programming, fuzzy systems, and hybrid intelligent systems in which these paradigms are contained. It fosters presentation and exchange of information among its members and the technical community throughout the world.
The IEEE Systems, Man & Cybernetics Society http://www.ieeesmc.org
Vision Statement: The vision of the Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society is to be recognized as the world leading society for the advancement of theory and application in systems science and engineering, human-machine systems, and cybernetics.
Mission Statement: The mission of the Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society is to serve the interests of its members and the community at large by promoting the theory, practice, and interdisciplinary aspects of systems science and engineering, human-machine systems, and cybernetics. It is accomplished through conferences, publications, and other activities that contribute to the professional needs of its members.
Goals / Focus of the Local Chapter
The mission of the IEEE Canadian Atlantic Section Computational Intelligence Society / Systems, Man & Cybernetics Society Joint Chapter is:
- Support computational intelligence, systems science and engineering, human-machine systems, and cybernetics related research, development and industry
- Support researchers and corporations whose background is primarily in computational intelligence, systems science and engineering, human-machine systems, and cybernetics, to increase their contributions
- Bring together experts from both academia and industry to share their technical knowledge and expertise
History of the Local Chapter
The local chapter was initially founded as a chapter of the Computational Intelligence Society in 2009 by Tony Li Xu who initially chaired the new chapter. In 20XX a joint chapter with the Systems, Man & Cybernetics Society was formed. ……
