Abstract:

An informal talk about what it is like to work in an electrical engineering career, aimed at students and young professionals.

Biography:

Dan was appointed Executive Vice President, Major Renewable and Alternative Energy, Emera Inc. in April 2014. Prior to that he has been President and Chief Operating Officer of CNG, Emera Inc., and President and Chief Operating Officer of Emera Utility Services.

Dan has over 27 years of experience with Emera companies. In that time he has held a number of engineering, supervisory and management roles.

Dan is currently serving as a member of the executive committee for Cigre Canada – International Council on Large Electric Systems. Dan has previously served on both the Transmission and Distribution Councils for the Canadian Electricity Association and is a past Board Member of the Cape Breton Partnership.

Dan has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia.
