IEEE Day Activities

All members of the IEEE Canadian Atlantic Section are invited to attend the IEEE Day events taking place on the Dalhousie University’s Sexton Campus on October 6th.

IEEE Day was created to celebrate the first time in history when engineers worldwide and IEEE members gathered to share their technical ideas in 1884. This year’s IEEE Day theme is “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”. While the world benefits from what’s new, the IEEE focuses on what’s next. IEEE Day 2015 is the 6th year that it has been celebrated.

Activities taking place on the Sexton Campus include:

Event: Main IEEE Day Event
Time: 10:00-16:00
Location: 1st Floor Lounge on Sexton Campus
Purpose: • To celebrating IEEE day
• To advertise the IEEE Student branch, Young Professionals (YP), and Women In Engineering (WIE) groups to students
Activities: • Free BBQ for 3rd &4th year electrical engineering students and electrical master students
• Snack and pops will be provided
 
Event: SMOKER Event
Time: 17:00-23:00
Location: T-room on Sexton Campus
Purpose: • Networking Event
• Pizza and drinks will be provided
Activities: • Free BBQ for 3rd &4th year electrical engineering students and electrical master students
